Paul Pigat a.k.a Cousin Harley and the Piglets
"Cousin Harley & the Piglets" is Paul Pigat. Paul wrote 9
out of the 11 tunes here, sang the lead vocals, plays guitar, steel guitar, & stand-up
bass. This rollicking romp through jazz, country, West Texas surf music & juke joint
jump is a testament to Pigats talent & slant on these peculiar genres. (The
instrumentals on this collection could fit in any of Quentin Tarantinos films).
Tremolo, vibrato & reverb embellish amazing guitar technique & slippery steel
slide licks. The lyrics are humorously bent as evidenced by the titles and even the
instrumentals reflect Pauls sense of wacky. "Diminished Abilities, Dust Bowl
Devil, Spaghetti No Sauce, Spooks, Beer Bottle Mama and Nutty in the Tub". Well, you
get the picture. He is backed up on a few of the songs by a vocal trio, (Carolyn Mark,
John Guliack & Neko
Case) adding extra texture to the choruses as well as Ken Kempster
on drums for four of the selections. I dont know if Paul is going to release this
collection as is. ...but I can guarantee that if you get a chance to hear "Cousin
Harley & the Piglets" you will dig it! "Going nutty in the tub..."

... you'll love his versatility and comic presentation ...
Louisa and Nutty In The Tub were my favourite cuts on this 1997 locally recorded CD
Catch his act live, 'cause this guy is headed for big things. I think even Hank Williams Sr. would have bought him a beer. A balladeer, showman, pitchman, and all around dedicated professional. His sense of timing and his sense of humour only makes his gig more complete.
